Princes Square, Buchanan Street, Glasgow

CBA were involved form the outset of this project (we toured the site with the developer prior to purchase) and have recently completed (the Glasshouse), an addition to the original centre.

This project kick started Glasgow's masterplan for linking Sauchiehall Street and Argyle Street with quality retailing in Buchanan Street. GRE were then a major shareholder in Teesland who had purchased the old offices and open square and were keen to develop speciality shopping in the UK.

The Client and Design Team visited many relevant centres in the USA but in the end developed a unique European scheme which has been the envy (and model) for many since it was developed in the mid 1980's. CBA devised a contract strategy to allow the integration of many craft operatives within a standard JCT building contract let to a major general contractor.
