The Saltire Centre, Caledonian University, Glasgow

Civic Trust Award
The Saltire Centre was completed and handed over to Glasgow Caledonian University in December 2005. This building comprises 10,500ft2 of 21st century library facilities including multi-use exhibition and meeting space on the ground floor, staff and office areas at first floor and learning areas at second – fourth floor levels.
The facilities in the learning areas include remote controlled compact shelving for book access, hard wired cabling and wireless installation for internet access.

St. Vincent Place, Edinburgh

CBA were appointed by AMA (New Town) Ltd. to undertake Employer’s Agent Services for this £14 million Shell Development which comprised the construction of an underground car park to provide 166 spaces, and a six storey residential / office block to shell standard for fitting out under a separate contract with a crescent of four 6/7 storey residential blocks constructed over the underground car park to shell standard for fitting out under a separate contract. |

Clydesdale Bank have celebrated their new headquarter office building by issuing a specially commissioned £20 note featuring the building. CBA provided QS Services.

Maggie’s Centre, Kirkcaldy
Awards:
American Institute of Architects UK Chapter Excellence in Design
CBA were appointed by Maggie Keswick Jencks Cancer Caring Centres Trust to provide full quantity surveying services for the £1.35 million Cancer Caring Centre within the grounds of the Victoria Hospital at Kirkcaldy, Fife.
The Fife Maggie’s Centre was designed by Zaha Hadid and is an angular single storey building perched above a hollow with inclined external walls and cantilevered roof.

Internally the spaces are formed with curved walls and glazed screens. The Fife Maggie’s Centre has been awarded prestigious American Institute of Architects UK Chapter Excellence in Design Award and shortlisted for the RIAS Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award 2007 and nominated for the Leaf Awards Best New Build.
