This project in central Edinburgh involved the demolition of the existing bridge link between Calton Hill and the St. James Centre and the construction of a new bridge link, and the demolition of the existing lift terminal and the construction of a new terminal comprising frame, envelope, roof, extension of existing stairs, structural alterations, extension of existing lift shaft including alteration and refurbishment of existing lifts, associated services and external works.

The scheme was designed in consultation with the Royal Fine Art Commission in Scotland, and the bridge received the ‘Special Structural Award’ at the 2005 Institute of Structural Engineers awards.
