CBA were appointed by Maggie Keswick Jencks Cancer Caring Centres Trust to provide full quantity surveying services for the £1.35 million Cancer Caring Centre within the grounds of the Victoria Hospital at Kirkcaldy, Fife.

The Fife Maggie’s Centre was designed by Zaha Hadid and is an angular single storey building perched above a hollow with inclined external walls and cantilevered roof. Internally the spaces are formed with curved walls and glazed screens. The Fife Maggie’s Centre has been awarded prestigious American Institute of Architects UK Chapter Excellence in Design Award and shortlisted for the RIAS Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award 2007 and nominated for the Leaf Awards Best New Build.

This was the first Zaha Hadid building to be completed in the UK.
