The former Glasgow Herald Building, designed partially by Charles Rennie Mackintosh was fully restored and extended to provide a centre for the City of Architecture and Design - Glasgow 1999. Retail, restaurant and exhibition space are provided within the Grade A listed building. Funding was obtained from the City Council, Heritage Lottery, the Scottish Arts Council, the European Regional Development Fund, Historic Scotland, Glasgow Development Agency and private sector sponsorship. CBA provided full quantity surveying services for the £10m construction project.
